Scoutmaster Legacy
"The Scoutmaster teaches boys to play the game by doing so himself." - Sir Robert Baden-Powell
Since our troop's founding in 1947, dedicated adult volunteers have served as Scoutmasters, guiding our Scouts through challenging and rewarding adventures. These leaders have shaped our troop's traditions and helped countless youth develop character, citizenship, personal fitness, and leadership skills.
The Scoutmaster works directly with the youth of the troop, providing guidance, mentorship, and support while allowing the Scouts themselves to lead the troop. This crucial adult leadership role requires patience, commitment, and a genuine belief in the Scout program.

The Scoutmaster's Role
The Scoutmaster is the adult responsible for working directly with the Scouts to help them create their program. The Scoutmaster trains youth leaders to run the troop by providing direction, coaching, and support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Training and guiding youth leaders
- Conducting Scoutmaster conferences for rank advancement
- Fostering the development of youth into responsible citizens
- Creating a safe environment for Scouts to learn and grow
- Ensuring that Scouting's aims and methods are followed
Through camping trips, service projects, weekly meetings, and other activities, Scoutmasters create opportunities for Scouts to develop skills, character, and leadership.
